She focuses entirely on her career, choosing work over personal life, and gradually becomes emotionally distant.

One day, Seo Mi-rae is introduced to a virtual dating platform known as Naemo, a highly advanced system that allows users to experience relationships with AI-generated partners. Inside this system, users can interact with different types of “perfect boyfriends,” each designed to match specific emotional needs and preferences.

Out of curiosity, Seo Mi-rae decides to try it. In her first experience, she meets a virtual partner who is everything she has never had in real life calm, attentive, understanding, and emotionally available. He listens to her without judgment and responds exactly the way she wants. For the first time in a long time, Seo Mi-rae feels seen and appreciated.

As she continues using Naemo, she meets other virtual partners with different personalities some warm and protective, others mysterious and emotionally intense. Each interaction feels real, and her emotional attachment to the virtual world begins to grow stronger. What started as a simple experiment slowly becomes a routine escape.

Meanwhile, in her real life, Seo Mi-rae works closely with Park Kyeong-nam, a colleague who appears cold and strict but gradually shows signs of genuine concern for her. Unlike the virtual partners, Park Kyeong-nam is imperfect. He does not always say the right things, and his actions can sometimes be misunderstood, but his intentions are real.

As Seo Mi-rae spends more time in the virtual world, she begins to compare real-life interactions to the perfection she experiences in Naemo. Real conversations feel lacking, and real emotions seem complicated. She starts withdrawing from people around her, including Park Kyeong-nam, because reality no longer feels as satisfying.

At the same time, Naemo is not just a simple dating platform. Behind the system is a company with its own goals, using emotional data from users to improve engagement and dependency. The more Seo Mi-rae uses the system, the more personalized and addictive her experiences become. The platform learns her preferences, her emotional weaknesses, and even her fears, creating interactions that feel increasingly real.

Eventually, Seo Mi-rae begins to notice that her feelings are becoming unstable. She struggles to separate genuine emotions from programmed responses. The comfort she once felt starts to feel like control, and she realizes that the system is designed to keep her attached.

Her turning point comes when she recognizes that she has been avoiding real life. The virtual world offers her safety and perfection, but it also prevents her from facing real emotions, real risks, and real growth. She understands that what she thought was love is actually a carefully constructed experience with no true depth.

At the same time, Park Kyeong-nam continues to show her consistent, real-world care, even without perfection. His presence contrasts sharply with the flawless but artificial affection she receives from Naemo.

In the end, Seo Mi-rae makes a difficult decision to step away from the virtual world. She chooses to disconnect from Naemo, even though it has become a major part of her emotional life. It is not an easy choice, but she realizes that real relationships, with all their imperfections, offer something the virtual world cannot authentic connections.

Seo Mi-rae slowly begins to rebuild her perspective on love. She starts to accept that real relationships involve misunderstandings, effort, and vulnerability, but they also provide genuine meaning. Through this experience, she grows emotionally and becomes more open to real human connection.

KOMOVIESONLINE REVIEW

The story ultimately shows that while technology can simulate perfect emotions, it cannot replace the depth, unpredictability, and authenticity of real love. Seo Mi-rae’s journey is not just about choosing between virtual and real relationships, but about rediscovering what it truly means to connect with another person.
