Hyosan high school is a normal high school, made up of intelligent, dull, bullies, social, athletes, fighters, and brilliant students.
Lee Byeong- Chan(Kim byung-chul) the life science teacher of the school,whose son Lee jin- su(Lee min-goo)was frequently bullied in school. Byeong- Chan in other to make his son stronger to be able to fight back the bullies, he injected jin- su with a rat syrup to boost his attack on those bullying him.

The science teacher believe, that rat have in them instincts to fight back cats when attacked, for a long period of time. But the syrup injected in his son turns to a deadly virus making his son’s heart to stop, his bones crack, blood gushing from his month and with an intent to bit any living things around him automatically turning him to a zombie.
Later on Lee Jin- su, the science teacher son bit and killed his mother,was still bullied in school but, was unable to bit those students because he was pushed off the school roof.
After the experiment,the science teacher kept the experimented rat in his office caged without the school knowledge, but one of the female student went to the laboratory and was bitten by the rat,she turned but was chain by the teacher,she later escape and went to her classroom.

She was taken to the school clinic ,she bit the nurse Ahn si-ha and scratch Nam On- Jo(park ji-hoo)hands who lives next door to cheong-san, they attends the same school. On-Jo father Nam so-ju( Jeon Bae-soo) is the captain of the hyosan fire station.
The nurse escape the clinic, bit one of the student he turned, and started biting other students, that is how the virus spread throughout the whole school, living the ones not infected to run for their lives as emotions and likeness clouds most of their judgements.
The zombie virus spread the whole of hyosan and neighbouring cities,the government decide to involve the soldiers to take decision by implementing the Martial law. The head of the soldiers decides to follow the science teacher solution on his laptop, to burn the infected ones thereby killing the virus.
