JTBC has released the first teaser for its upcoming Friday drama Shining, offering viewers an emotional glimpse into a love shaped by time, distance, and memory.
“Shining” follows the story of young people who once lived in a world of their own, only to gradually become each other’s source of trust—and the light that guides their lives forward.
The teaser opens with warm, nostalgic scenes of Yeon Tae Seo, played by Park Jinyoung, and Mo Eun Ah, portrayed by Kim Min Ju, during their youthful days at nineteen. Their shared moments—quiet hours in the school library, cycling along peaceful country roads in their uniforms, and lying side by side in the snow while holding hands—capture the innocence and joy of first love.
As the teaser unfolds, those bright memories give way to separation and emotional distance. Mo Eun Ah’s reflective gaze through a window and Yeon Tae Seo’s tearful vulnerability hint at the loneliness they endure after parting ways, adding a layer of quiet heartbreak to their story.
Yet hope resurfaces in fleeting, radiant moments.
The pair are shown running toward each other with resolve, embracing tightly in the middle of the street, before later meeting again after a long time apart. Their soft exchange of greetings, carried by a gentle voiceover, underscores the lingering bond between them.
Once the brightest presence in each other’s lives, Yeon Tae Seo and Mo Eun Ah reunite after years of longing. When Mo Eun Ah softly says, “I’ve wanted to see you at least once,” the teaser leaves viewers wondering whether the two can rediscover the light they once shared.
“Shining” is set to premiere on March 6 at 8:50 p.m. KST.
