Perfect Crown is set in a modern-day South Korea ruled under a constitutional monarchy, where power, status, and ambition shape the lives of the elite.
At the center of the story is Seong Hee-Ju, played by IU, the second daughter of the nation’s most powerful chaebol family. Beautiful, intelligent, and intensely driven, she appears to have everything anyone could want. Yet despite her wealth and influence, one thing continues to stand in her way she is not a member of the royal family.
As her commoner status begins to limit her path, Hee-Ju finds herself drawn into the world of Prince Yian, portrayed by Byeon Woo-Seok. As the King’s second son, Prince Yian possesses royal blood but little real power or purpose. Quiet and withdrawn, he has spent much of his life hiding himself from the public and living in the shadow of his position.
