The Presidency has provided clarification regarding an incident involving President Bola Tinubu at the beginning of his official visit to Turkey on Tuesday. Presidential spokesperson Bayo Onanuga explained that the President stumbled after stepping on a metal object on the floor, which caused him to lose his balance.
In a written statement responding to inquiries from THISDAY, Onanuga assured the public that the incident was minor and did not pose any serious concern. He emphasized that President Tinubu did not fall but simply lost his balance for a brief moment.
“This is not a big deal, except for those looking to make mischief out of a fleeting incident,” Onanuga said. “It was a mere stumble, thank God, not a fall.”
The Presidency’s statement aims to address any rumors or concerns regarding the minor mishap that occurred as part of the President’s visit to Turkey.
