The Federal Capital Territory (FCT) Police Command has finally explained why Nigerian actress Regina Daniels’ brother, Samuel Ojeogwu, popularly known as Sammy West, was arrested and detained.

According to the police, a petition was filed against him, alleging criminal conspiracy, trespass, assault, criminal intimidation, theft, and cyber-bullying.

Police spokesperson, SP Josephine Adeh, said that Sammy West had been invited for questioning several times but refused to appear. She stated that this led officers to travel to Lagos to arrest him “on the authority of a duly issued arrest warrant from a competent court,” after which he was taken to Abuja for further investigation.
The police confirmed that Sammy West was charged to court on November 6 and remanded pending the fulfilment of his bail conditions.

Family Drama and Emotional Outburst
The incident comes amid ongoing tension between Regina Daniels and her husband, Senator Ned Nwoko, who represents Delta North in the Nigerian Senate.
The couple’s relationship has faced public scrutiny after reports surfaced about domestic issues. Regina had accused her husband of domestic violence, while Nwoko claimed that his wife needed professional help for alleged drug-related struggles.
Taking to Instagram on Friday morning, a tearful Regina Daniels demanded answers from the police over her brother’s continued detention.
“I’ve tried. I feel like I’m going crazy and losing my mind. It doesn’t make sense anymore. Please, what am I begging for? I don’t even know,” she cried.
“Do you think it’s easy waking up every day and seeing something new about my brother online? Today they say he’ll be released, tomorrow another story comes up. What’s really happening?”
“What Is My Brother’s Offence?” — Regina Daniels Speaks Out
On her Instagram page, Regina Daniels questioned the basis of her brother’s arrest, claiming he was only defending her.
“I give up! What is my brother’s offence? Fighting for his baby sister because her in-laws always beat her up? I respect the Nigerian Police, but shame on you all! The highest bidder always wins. Now I’m broken,” she wrote.
“I’ll return if that’s the only way — to do whatever Ned Nwoko says, get injected to become a zombie, get locked up and raped in the house. Only then will my brother return. Because by law, there’s no tangible case against him! Ned Nwoko is bigger than the whole of Nigeria. We’ve lost, or rather, I’ve lost.”
Regina also alleged that her husband was attempting to have her mother, Rita Daniels, arrested, adding that the police had already invited her mother for questioning.
“Ned has issued an arrest warrant against me. They’ll arrest me on or before Monday,” she wrote, sharing screenshots of her chat with her mother.
As of now, Senator Nwoko has not responded to any of the allegations made by his wife or her family.
