“Last Summer” tells the bittersweet story of two brothers and the woman whose life has always been intertwined with theirs — bound together by childhood summers, and separated by the passing of time and tragedy.

Baek Do-Ha (played by Lee Jae-Wook) and his twin brother Baek Do-Yeong grew up apart after their parents’ divorce. While Do-Ha moved to the United States with his mother, Do-Yeong remained in South Korea with their father. Each summer, Do-Ha returns to Korea to spend 21 days at his father’s countryside duplex — a house that holds both family warmth and hidden pain.

Next door lives Song Ha-Kyeong (Choi Sung-Eun) — a spirited yet introverted girl whose father shares a long friendship with the twins’ father. For years, she bickers endlessly with the visiting Do-Ha, never realizing her resentment hides affection. As children, they fight; as teenagers, they fall in love; and as adults, they carry unspoken regrets from one fateful summer two years ago that altered everything.

Now grown, Do-Ha is a talented architect who designs buildings as precise and distant as his own personality. Ha-Kyeong, meanwhile, works as a civil officer in urban architecture — a job that keeps her close to the past she wants to forget. When Do-Ha returns to Korea again, the once-innocent warmth between them becomes a quiet storm of guilt, longing, and questions left unanswered.

Through their intertwined careers, Do-Ha and Ha-Kyeong are forced to confront the “incident” that destroyed their bond — a loss connected to Do-Yeong’s mysterious absence. Love, memory, and grief collide as the summer that began everything returns for one last reckoning.
